I know it's been done to death on here about thier carp service. But. SWMBO realised that our MX5(yes ok!) needed an MOT today. We are going away for the b/holiday. Soo called them at 0900, booked in for 1300 & left them at 1345. Got a proper spanner man (not a tyre monkey), stayed with him all the time asking how it was going etc. What was wrong etc etc. "Front pads a bit low. Nearside rear err..... well it passes but you wil need a new one soon(this was after turnig the wheel to find a good reading), Emissions a bit on the high side but near enough for me (and apparently VOSA) but you might like to get one of the exhaust seals done again".

All in all a very good service imvho.

I've been thinking of Kwik Fit for an MOT on the Insight if the brother in law can't get it into his place next week.

Kwik fit in Banbury are not at all bad. I've had wheel balancing done free of charge twice (different cars!) and they've also swapped a tyre over for me for nothing.

As for anything too technical.....never hehe

So, you're happy to be driving around on a near-bald rear tyre this weekend?

Some good centres, some bad. For MOTs I'd say just go to whoever is cheapest and watch them do it. If you're not happy you can report them to VOSA, so threatening this will stop someone from trying it on.

When I take my company car to them, low is when it's bang on the legal limit. They rarely replace them any earlier...

Nope. I still wouldn't let them even check my tyre pressures.

One good experience with them, a few bad and one horrendous (not me, MIL). All different branches.

The good experience was at the Romford branch on London road. Exhaust bracket collapsed and they were the nearest garage on a Sunday and went to them for a 'get me home' fix. They said that all the bits were still there, and they had done the best that they could but because it was only really a temporary fix (would need welding eventually) they said not to worry about any money. Absolutely top blokes who seemed very knowledgable, however to be honest I've got a tyre shop I use and a garage I use so would have no reason to go to them again. My experience of the rest of them would lead me to avoid a KF unless I had to.

I found them pretty good at Banbury as well to be honest, I had a puncture on the way home from college one day, I would usually get tyres from a place where I live (Brackley) because I can get 20% off, but kwik fit did a price match so all was good.

We got in touch, with them reply nothing no problem it does not matter?.

It did to the MOT chap, never again will we go there.
