Hi Everyone,

After an unlucky stone impact, my Boxster has developed a nasty crack across the windscreen. Fortunately my insurance will cover it, but RAC Auto Windscreens reckon its a tricky replacement on a Boxster which will take 3 hours and needs to be done in their centre (rather than my drive).

I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience, and if there's anything I need to watch out for?

Thanks,

IC

Yep, they mentioned that. And apparently it needs new rubber trim and various other bits and pieces. I guess the windscreen must be bonded in for structural strength. Any engineers out there?

see similar post on boxa.net (when its up )
I got mine done by RAC windscreens, they did a great job. They did it in thier workshop - ariel and top tint in place on the new screen, no problems. Took a couple of hours if I remember correctly.

Just used a bit of chip glue invisible mending

Actually it was RAC auto glass did it at the house, it was expensive (ariel in the windscreen) and they forgot to do the insurance discount. The car couldnt be driven for 3 hours.
