I have just seen these on the Jura website and really like the look of them. The only slight problem I have is that they are all quartz, why is this? Why don't they use auto movements? Also is it the general feeling that £1400 is alot for a quartz watch. I was of the opinion that it was quite reasonable given the status of the brand.....

Interested to hear thoughts

Whilst it is quite nice, I personally couldn't bring myself to pay that much for a quartz watch no matter who made it.

That's a lot of money and, of course, an awful lot to spend to tell the time smile

However, Ebel build beautiful watches with a distinct quality feel, if you can afford it. It's a shame these don't appear to include a metal bracelet. Ebel bracelets are quite special and a real loss not to have.

I would hazard a guess that depreciation would be higher for a quartz watch. If you have the money and can live with any depreciation and the strap, then I personally wouldn't worry about quartz. I think quartz watches are just fine, though others might consider this heresy!

What about an Ebel 1911 Discovery? Similar case design, chronograph, automatic movement, and a bit of a bargain second hand!

Funnily enough I have seen this watch on watches.co.uk along with it's white dialled brother. I do like thos watch alot but the Problem is that I recently spent all watch funds on an engagement ring (silly move as now we have to apparently get married, whixh aint cheap)! and therefore either have to wait a long time whilst i save or go down the interest free route. Does anyone know if watches or Ian blowers do interest free?

I'm not completely sold on the rubber strap on tbe new version and I have 2 ( I know that isn't alot on this forum) decent ish quartz watches and only an auto dress watch so ideally I would like a nice auto in this kind of style. Also always looked the look and feel of the ebel's as an alternative to omega etc .
