Tyre pressures

Just got a new set of Bridgestone S03's on my rears - running S02's on the front. Picked up the car from the garage and back end was all over the place - checked tyre pressures and they were at 38PSI! Is this a running in pressure or something else I'm unaware of?

TVR Barnet recommended 21PSI on all four which worked well previously with 4 SO2's. I dropped the rears to 22PSI but they feel a bit soft now - any recommendations on tyre pressures before I play around some more?

According to a thread on TOG a while ago, Michael Caine suggested 21 at the front and 23 at the rear for SO2s.
I have my Toyo's at 24F and 26R
