Never selling a car privately again!
Discussion
My partner and I recently put our Supra up for sale, first we advertised in the AT, we received approx 20 calls within 1 hour of it being on line and this was 11pm at night, we had to un-plug the phone! One guy CONSTANTLY rang the house and mobile, when I finally got to speak to him I said I would get back to him on Monday as we were just about to head off for the weekend. (I thought the advert would take at least a day or two to go live!)
Anyway, he took this as "a promise" that Id sell the car to him,(??) bear in mind he asked NO questions about the car, was very quick to ask for us to "make a friendly transaction" and then said he'd drive to "my area and wait for me to come back" I said no thank you, sorry and I hung up. He then called when we were away on a different number - again DESPERATE to buy a car and this time being quite angry with us - feeling like we didnt want to sell the car to him.. hmm I wonder why?? Anyway in the end after much abuse and harrasement, I told him it was sold and the texts kept coming, more and more angry each time, claiming we lied to him and promised him the car! WTF!! anyway 3 days later when we got back, we finally removed the advert feeling very sombre as this was becoming a nightmare! approx 150 phone calls non stop, running down the battery on the phone were received that weekend and 90% were absolultey sure they were gonna be the first people to see/buy the car, despite living more than 300 miles away!
We re-advertised on here after talking to a nice guy called Scott (who also said we'd advertised it altleast 3 grand short of its value!) Yet again the phone was off the hook, needless to say the dodgy "buyer" was back on the blower with his finest abuse, this time telling my boyfriend he knows his address and is coming to get the car - as agreed! again WTF! nothing was agreed.. We then sold it to a nice guy who spoke on the phone for about an hour asking questions (thats more like it) Anyway, the abuse was still coming, CONSTANT phone calls and a few texts, arguing and threats to smash the house up to the tune of thousands of pounds.. We told him the car was DEFINATLEY sold this time and again he just went nuts. We've had a few sleepless nights and its just been a complete nightmare thanks to this one guy who I'd like to name and shame if PH would like to know? as he IS a dealer on this site!

Haha, you misspelt 'supra car' in your thread title.
Also, sounds like this wasn't a problem with the car selling process, more that this guy was a nutter. Of possibly he became obsessed about buying the car because you'd advertised it so much below market value - no wonder he would have been keen to get it off you.
If you undervalue a car then you can expect to get a lot of calls, that's how it is. The guy harrassing you is clearly just a bit of a nutter though.
PS - welcome to the site.
