Hi, I need to replace the radiator (hopefully a winter job if it lasts 'til then) and read on hear that the alloy radiators sold on Ebay as Cosworth are a suitable swop. My questions to the people who have done it ,

Exactly which one do I need to buy? (Sierra, Escort or Granada)

Were there any problems apart from the brackets and hose sizes?

Thanks, Phil

Hi mate..I know the 280s are easier as they have a engine bay mounted rad but rads in the nosecone are not as easy to fit..Are you sure it wouldnt be cheaper and more practical to have your exsisting one recored?..Heres a couple of rad repairers if you want to enquire..Cheers..Ziga

Even though these guys dont list TVR they are worth calling..

Hi Ziga,
I have a local firm who will re-core my old one but I would prefer to update and improve if I can. New pipewok is needed anyway so while I'm at it I am trying to tidy up the plumbing and improve its efficiency at the same time.

Problem with the Cosworth one on a V8 is there is no feed from the rad to the header tank, plus your need to make custom brackets, so unless you want to do a lot of mods, then it maybe better to get a TVR radtec one, but they are a bit more expensive.

I would get your rad re-cored get an alloy header tank - cheaper option. You could check out some RV8 suppliers for an insight into what's on offer etc.
