Tongue?

Don't know how common this is but I can't really stick my tongue out of my mouth very far at all because it's joined at the bottom by a little strip?

Apparently the doctors said they'd operate when I was younger If It effected my speech but it doesn't..

It's just REALLY annoying and now I'm a bit older I was just wondering if there's anything I could have done about this?

Frenectomy. (Is what you need).

I have the same thing and it affects being able to brush my teeth properly, so hygienist every 3-6 months. Been meaning to have it done for ages but not sure...will I start lisping? Will I bite my tongue? What if I get drunk and choke on it in my sleep? Perhaps we're evolving like this for a reason...?

You're not more evolved, sorry to break it, more of a genetic throw back, but thanks to medical intervention those genes still exist. Sorry to sound cruel, but just have the op if it effects you, pretty simple.
