Hello all,
I have a dilemma - I currently own a gorgeous e39 530d with all the kit - very late 2003 model, a 2000 Cerbera S6 and a Merc SL 500 R129

Question is I am not using the last two very often but I I've them when I do

My question is - I could probably get 20 to 25k for all three. I am tempted to then get one car - poss a 993 Porsche, E60 M5, late XKR old shape ( the 2004/5) facelift prior to new model, CL Amg 55, poss an RS4 or 6

No kids and mileage not really an issue

What would you do?? Any other cars I've missed? Don't suggest a 335d or mx5!!!

Cheers

The 335d has great performance and fantastic economy. Or if you prefer an open-top you could try a MX5.

From those choices I'd go for the 993, you shouldn't loose too much in depreciation either if you look after it.

Nice collection of metal, sir. If you fancy a change, I'd swap your three for two, not one. You can't beat having a daily beater (well, a nice daily) and then something special for the weekend.

How about keeping the E39, and replacing the Cerb and SL with a 996 (coupe or 'vert, depending on preference)?

It really depends what you want from the car. Sounds like you don't now need saloon space so I wouldn't go for the M5...high running costs and there are more rewarding cars to drive. The 993 is great if you have a Porsche itch to scratch...that car is a classic and will never go out of fashion.

25k is just coming onto E92 M3 money...now that is a fantastic allrounder. Space and lots of pace and an engine to savour firing up every morning.

You'll probably say now how you've always intensely hated the M3...
