Just in the last stages of negotiating the purchase of a new property with a nice big double garage with an electric roller door. Assuming it all goes according to plan what is the best flooring to use to keep the place clean for the new "toy" I shall be buying (tbd).

I've had tiled flooring before which worked wonderfully but wondered if I should be looking at any other coverings or coatings?

Thanks!

If its going to have jacks used on it, any good garage paint will do. They're very temp sensitive when applied though. If just for parking....carpet. biggrin

I've just painted mine. Took about 4 days and did it when the weather was a bit nicer. Ronseal concrete floor seal then a couple of coats of Ronseal floor paint. International Paints is another good brand. Avoid the B+Q stuff.

I sealed mine first and then painted it, its stood up OK but the wheels have lifted the paint in places, I think there is a sort you have to mix that is far better, never found it though, might just be for heavy duty car parking jobs.
Carpet under the wheels is the easiest way of stopping it lifting when tyres are on it.

Fingers crossed Matt - it's not over till it's over smile

Ashley Heath in the end - about 10 miles north of Bournemouth.

I've been very unimpressed with the Ronseal (although my concrete is very smooth which probably doesn't help it adhere). I've always got on with International previously.

Carpeted mine and it makes such a difference especially in the winter months. IIRC it was around £3.50 a metre

Cheers will keep an eye on it. Hopefully I've done everything right, waited for the weather to be warm, left it over a week before putting a car on it etc. We'll see.
