Hi, car seemed fine since service a few hundred miles ago. 20000 miles. Started up and amber engine warning light. Also amber triangle with power reduction alarm, car clearly misfiring. Had recovered to Jaguar garage and they put it on diagnostics. Replaced 8 plugs and 4 coils but no change. I doubted this would help,

Any advice please?

What were the fault code that came up?

Fuel contamination is always the 1st thing to eliminate on my list.

Hi,
sorry I do not know the original engine alarm code.
Jag dealer says that they changed 4 coils and 8 spark plugs on a 20,000 mile car.
This did not clear the fault. They decided that unburnt fuel had been going through exhaust and was stuck in cylinders. Dried out and now running but needs road test.
My non Jag warranty covers parts but not diagnostics, only half the labour costs so it may be a bit expensive.

Might be worth a call to Jaguar UK Customer Services, I appreciate it's out of Jaguar warranty but if you mention the mileage, your dream car, just lost your job etc etc you may get a contribution towards the labour.
