I've sold my Chimaera
Discussion
After almost 8 years of incredible ownership, i sold my Chimaera 400 on Wednesday. I will really miss the car, but i know it has gone to a good owner who will care for and use it the way it deservers.
My wife and i had our first child in October 2010 and the car simply just wasn't being used. I didn't need to sell the car, but wanted it to be used rather than just locked up in the garage.
Anyway, today i bought a car with an even bigger V8 engine, loads more power, almost as loud, 5 seats and plenty of space. It even has 3 tv's, a dvd player, and a playstation 2! It's an Estoril Blue BMW X5 4.6is. Such a big car really should not accelerate quite so quickly and corner so well.
I'm very happy with it. It's no TVR, but is a great fun family car that shares some of the DNA which made me love my Chimaera so much.

Hi James,
Glad you sold it, it was obviously a well-cared for car.
Thanks Stephen. Hope you have got used to and are enjoying your 500.Glad you sold it, it was obviously a well-cared for car.
I'm still missing the TVR, but i do think the X5 was a good choice. It doesn't roll, sounds great though not quite as loud as the Chimaera, and really can accelerate almost as hard! The 4.6 V8 does a great job of shifting over 2 tonnes of car!
