Martin Hines RIP
Discussion
I'm absolutely gutted.
I grew up with karting and Martin was the "godfather" of karting in my opinion. Every single time I went to the Autosport show, no matter what age I was, the Zip Kart stand would always be a place of respect for me.
Martin was a tough bloke, but able to distinguish this for the kids and always seemed approachable for us!
My deeepest sympathy for Luke, Tuesday and the rest of the family and friends who have been blessed by his presence.
RIP Martin Hines.
Ian Davidson.

Shocking news, a brave and very fast SuperKartracer, one of the best, again to all the people that keep saying racing superkarts is dangerous, theres only one thing that scares me and it's taken more friends and family than all dangerous sports put together ... the big C, such a sad way to go.
RIP

I don't know where I've been the last month, only caught this today. I know he has fought cancer before, but it is very sad to learn that he has lost the battle.
I watched him dominate the 250cc class to take numerous world titles, it was Martin Hines that established Rye House as one of the top kart circuits of the 70's and I too once had a Zip Bluestreak.
His successes off the track were every bit as great as those on it. The consummate karting entrepreneur.
My thoughts go to Mark and all his family.
