We have a pear and apple tree currently full of fruit

There is only so much the family and dog can eat ..anyone know of any charities or amateur cider making societies that would want the fruit ?? To set expectations the fruit is currently on the trees so will need to be picked..Pear tree has about 100 pears and the apples tree circa 50 apples
North west based (Wilmslow)
cheers

May sound daft, but try freecycle in your area,I have some items offered on our local and noticed people requesting apples to make cider with.

I'd wondered about cider making. In the last week or so we've picked half our apples - chopped, stewed and packed into pots for the freezer. About 7kg, enough for a year's supply of apple pies etc, and there's no more room in the freezer.
I'll probably take some into work and give some to our neighbours.

It's quite usual to have a box outside your house with a 'help yourself to windfalls' notice. Always well appreciated smile

My Dad used to have loads of fruit trees and picked am many as he could, and kept them covered up in a dark and fairly cool shed. At this time of year, it's not long before it gets cold anyway so they used to last him through the winter.
