Hi all,

I was at Alton Towers over the last few days and saw a few "Topman Model" types... One had a bloody nice watch but I had no idea what it was! It had a big round face on a leather strap. I know that's not enough to identify it!!

I wondered if we could do a thread full of watches that are "fashionable". I know this is a personal choice but let's say sub £500.

They're pretty popular at the moment

TW Steel and their clones seem to be the in-thing. Huge, but with tiny movements (just look where the date window ends up).

Also, watches on a leather cuff. Ghastly things.

Personally I think if you spend £500 on a cheap quartz that's not even remotely waterproof, has all the resale value and timeless appeal of a Peugeot, just for the words "Armani" or "D&G" (or whatever) on it, you're weapons-grade mental.

Fossil come out with some good ones. There's always too much on my 'to buy' list to bother.

The margin on watches like D&G, Boss, Armani etc. must be enormous.

Sorry, I didn't mean d&g / Armani watches!!! I wouldn't waste money on one of them!

I think the watch the guy was wearing was an oozoo! Which I've just found out is circa £50! Has anybody got one?

Of the fashion brands, Fossil are about the only one's I'd actually spend my own money on, if I had to.

In fact, I've actually bought 3 as gifts for people - non WIS's, obviously!

Once again, I didn't mean fashionable brands! I meant fashionable looks.

Lol! I know it's a bit of an odd thing, as I appreciate watches are supposed be timeless!

But like the leather cuff watches were 'in fashion' etc.

They were mentioned on the £50 thread.

Think they were ok for the money really.

Have a search through.

I think the thread title is causing the problem.

Don't know if any of you ever venture over to etsy.com , some folk on there make 'fashionable' watches, they are all pretty awful.
