My missus is off for an event in Monaco in a couple of weekends time and it flying into Nice.

She wants to get a car to take her into Monaco from Nice and pick again the next day.

I know it's a long shot, but does anyone happen to know a good reputable firm around that way ? Doesn't have to be flash, just good.

thanks all - I'll be damn impressed if PH comes up with an answer for this one!

I got the bus frown

Our European head office colleagues used the chopper - and then they quite straight-faced tried to justify it on the basis of time saved!

I know there's only 1 person going, but is that price per person?

The train is pretty good, I've used it several times. The train line runs round the coast and has some stunning views.

The taxis are expensive, I was told that there are very few in Nice, something to do with the licenses being limited. Not sure how true that is.

In the event of using the train, what's the easiest way to get from Nice airport to Nice station prior to catching a train to Monaco?

Nice airport is unusual as its right on the sea front close to the town. I've never connected from there to the station, but it would be a doddle.

The train line runs right outside the airport, there is a station! The fare to Monaco is apparently €4.30

You are talking £50ish for the taxi IIRC. The helicopter is much faster, and about eleventy billion times cooler. Plus as far as helicopter rides go it represents pretty good value.

The helicopter gig is fun but a bit of a pain in the ass - you need to bus out to the heliport (at nice airport) and when you arrive in monaco then take a cab to your house / hotel. Trust me - jump in a cab from the airport - its quicker!

The train station is not by Nice airport and really isn't an option.

I'm down here at the moment and we have a cvab service we use - I'll try and find his card!

Blimey people, I put email alert on this thread assuming one reply in about a week and you've filled my inbox !

I've passed on the chopper copter option with eyes wide open excitement. Her answer "it's something you'd do, I know, but not me". I've pointed her to this thread so you can all help persuade her smile

It's not a corporate gig unfortunately and she's with a mate.

Fulham911 I'd appreciate that number if you can find it.

thanks all !

When I was doing this regularly in 2008 heliair was 190 return and a taxi 75 each way so by the time you factored in 6 minutes heli versus over an hour in the car at times... Heli is good value and worth the extra

Monaco train station is worth a visit though... Beats charing cross! :-)

Heliport is in same airport, so they chuck you in a transfer minibus but it's literally 2 minutes up the same airfield

Heli-air have a free shuttle the other end as well to drop you at your hotel.

Better than being stuck on that PITA main road taking you down into to Monaco on a bad day.

I used to use MC Limousine out of Cannes, they now seem to be Plaza Internationa: http://www.plaza-international.fr/langue.htm but probably still just as good - used them for our CEO level transfers at Mobile World Congress when it was still held in Cannes.
