We're thinking of popping down to see what's on offer. Not been for about 9 years and last time I went with my parents and they bought the last boat- now it's gone I'm seriously missing boating life.

This must be the first year I've not had tickets sent to me and now I want to go. I hope it's worth the entrance fee!

Anyone else popping down?

Looks like we'll be there on day one, the 16th.

Going to have a look at the new Elan 394 and 444 models, but will make sure I leave my cheque book at home. frown

Unless somebody at Mr Lombard wants to buy me one instead.

Can't/won't go. I will end up spending money I shouldn't spend (sons university fund)

Off topic but you boaters will like this - mate brought 6 crewsaver auto life jackets. Been on his boat 4 weeks so he takes them home and decides to wash them off with a hose. rofl

Next visit is to the chandlery to get new air canisters etc smile

I will be at the show everyday as we have a stand down by the marina. Happy to offer as much free advice as any PH'er would like on any boaty subject and can point you in the direction of good suppliers for boaty bits!

There might even be some free drinks for PH'ers

PM me if I can be of any help

Will the Elan 210 be at the show? Quite fancy snooping at that one (although my budget is more Hunter Medina sized).

Boats listed from Elan are;

Elan 210, Elan 350, Elan Impression 394, Elan Impression 444.

Two of which I'm interested in!

Bit late with my edit, I meant the 210.

Interested to see if it's more of a practical rocket than something like a J/22

I'd like to know the point of the lifting keel, can't see it being happy on a drying mooring and it's never going to be an easy trailer sailor.

how do you fancy a 2008 elan impression 434 with generator, inverter, bowthruster, watermaker, lots of nav toys, flat-screen tv etc etc... i have one due here (lymington) in october. not quite sure of the price yet, but it will probably be in the region of £130k+VAT (it has not been used for charter, but is owned by a non-eu national, hence the ex-vat status)

Slightly off topic i guess but on the theme ..... anyone here able to point me in the direction of some well priced Garmin instruments (wind, tactics etc) and an engine instrument panel for Yanmar.

(wiring on my old girl is a bit shonky / old so hauling stuff out and cant find anything for the WAFI out here, its either fish finders or DP systems for a 200 meter vessel hehe

If I'm allowed out of the office I should be there for a day or two!

So far it sounds like the majority of you will be there looking at the ones with big sticks on the top! Don't worry, I'm not having a pop, I do also sail, and I love it.

Regards,
Olly

Exactly what I'm looking for, but I'm also looking for a bargain, and that doesn't sound 'bargain' enough to me....

How keen are they to sell? wink

ETA - The London boat show demonstrator of the brand new 444 model is on sale at the moment at £137k plus VAT. Makes a three (nearly four) year old previous model look a little pricey....
