I am confused as to the legality of the Car England flags. Are they illegal now?? Apparantly the police can now stop you and issue an on the spot fine and points. Any truth?

Cheers

I certainly wouldn't stop anyone with them unless they were obstructing mirrors, or anything else vital. - windscreen

There is no offence of having a flag on your car. It could only be a problem if as Silverback Mike says it is obstructing vision or not safely secured.

OK, must just be a rumour then. Sorry if I look a prick, but as far as I'm concerned there aint enough patriotism in this country. Really smiled today going down a little road and the cars each side were lined with England flags and a lot of houses had big ones handing out of the windows.

Patriotism doesn't have to be overt tho. Plenty of other ways to 'show' or rather be patriotic. What's more important to be patriotism or 'show' patriotism?

I aint getting involved in being overtly or covertly patriotic. I just like to see people being proud of the country for once and showing it. Nothing wrong with a few St Georges Cross to show where we are and who we are. Do you disagree?

Nothing wrong at all, I suppose a free flag from a petrol station is a cheap and easy way to do it, but it takes an event such as a football tournament for 'patriotism' to be exhibited or at least thought about again.

Indeed, I'd gladly fly a flag all year round and believe there should be much more "overt" patriotism around. But there isnt so any excuse to get drunk and sing english songs.

Technically ANYTHING added to the original bodywork which is not approved is illegal....therefore England flags are definitely a NONO!!! but who the hell cares anyway, it can only be chavscum (or soccer scruffs or hooligans) who do something like that!!!!!

What do you mean by this? This isn't true. If it was, Halfords would be prosecuted!
