WARNING FUEL HOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Noticed today that the throttle rod on my 4.5 was rubbing against the fuel hose, so please check yours, I've cabled tied it out the way for now until i can think of something better

So please check yours as mine was down to the braiding of the hose, i have cut the effected bit off.

Any of the rubber fuel lines will spring a leak, rubbed or not. Check the lines often under pressure to be on the safe side.

I do and have two I'm looking to replace due to external cracking....
As you may tell from my oil pressure post, I am quite paranoid about these things as I'm inexperienced about what is generic "they're all like that dont worry" to "Oh that's bad" issues, plus not being as handy with engines and spanners as others on here, a pic is a thousand words (or more!)

I got my indie to replace my split fuel line. Low loader and a cup of coffee was called for.

I've just replaced mine on my 4.5

When you secure them back against the bulkhead, they do run close to the throttle linkage, and could rub...

Not sure which is worse, a stuck WOT or a leak to be honest!

The only point of deterioration on my pipes was from the fuel pressure regulator return at the back of the rail. The pipe has to twist thru 90 deg or more before it straps to the bulkhead.

Thanks Peter, that pipe does do a nasty turn and twist to get to the bulkhead on mine.

They also tend to split where they join the rigid pipe just under the water expansion bottle, spraying fuel at high pressure across the hot exhaust manifold. How it didn't go up I have no idea!!!!
