Recommend me some pedals and shoes

Hi guys, I've just started cycling again after 18 years of driving everywhere and want to buy some clip in shoes and pedals....

I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to these things and would appreciate any help/ websites I can order from, it's for abroad bike if that makes a difference?

single sided spds mean you can run spd compatible shoes and regular shoes for nipping down to the shops:

or if you definately dont need the advantage of single sided pedals, i have used these for years, hte DHB R1 and Shimano 105 pedals (remember you need cleats for the shoes too)

As above, I followed the advice from here and got the DHBs and the Shimano pedals, do those above not come with cleats? these from Halfords did.

Thanks guys, will any shoes fit these pedals or do they need to be shimano shoes? Sorry I'm a peddle newbie

pedal and cleats are specific, most shoes will have drilling specific to one system. the majority use shimano but a few will either have Look compatible cleats as well or instead of shimano. people will swear that one is better tha nthe other but i cant believe it that much.
