Battery flat after 4 days of none use

I got back from a few days away this morning, unpacked and grabbed the MCS keys for a quick blurt. Central locking works, dashboard lights up but nothing doing with starting, just a lovely click from the starter motor. So I get out the jump leads, fire up the 'teg and charge the battery for a bit. I have checked with the neighbours and the car alarm has not been triggered as far as they know, however with the faff of jumping the car from the 'teg I forgot to check the alarm warning light to see if it had recorded an alarm fault.
Apart from the battery being knackered (which is less than 8 months old), the alternator being kaput (less than 2 years old) and there being a short somewhere in the system is there anything else I should be looking for tomorrow when it gets light and hopefully finally stops raining?

Also check the battery connections are clean and well fixed. (New batters can some times be duff). Has the radio been changed as this can some times be a problem even if you think it is off.
If you have a multy meter you can see if there is any large current draw with the ignition off?

Battery is only showing 11.73V across terminals, no better after charging. Everything else is fine, alternator working well, starter motor fine, no excessive charge being drawn from any other electrical system.
Good job I paid extra for the 4 year battery warranty I think, well seemingly not, store are not honouring the warranty saying a fault with the car has duffed up the battery. Car has been completely checked over, nothing untoward found but still store not budging with a refund. That's another £75 down the drain then.

There is very littal a car can do to hurt a battery. The only thing is if you keep draining low and recharging (Over a nuber of times) Car batterys like to stay topped up or a very high load (Short).
I would wright a letter to them saying that if they do not replace the battery that even they say is faulty (I take it that they say there is a fualt with the battery but say your car did it.) You will have to trading standerds as a sarting point. Can they explane what a car can do to a battery to make it faulty?
