well had an offer - bit less than Im looking for but suppose its the best Ill get in current climate, so do I look now for a Chimeara or wait untill early next year ?

Heart is saying go get one but thinking its probally not going to get much use over the winter so may as well wait until worse of the weather is over

If you're not going to use it much over the winter then I'd just keep looking for now and if the perfect one comes up get it bought, if not then you can keep searching into next year. Gives you plenty of time to get the right one then.

I did this and bought my 450 in early March, just ahead of the spring price rise frenzy. The car needed a few things doing to it that I completed during the next few weeks and then had it up and running for the better weather biggrin

Or buy an older, high mileage but genuine and cared for example, and spend what you've saved on initial purchase together with some quality time over winter to make it a real good 'un!

I was in the exact same position as you last year, I had decided i DEFINAELY wanted a 430 though so waited it out, ended up buying one off a member on here who had seen my posts and hadnt even advertised his car for sale, think I bought it about march time in the end.

Its worth waiting to get the one you want.

Once you finally decide to tack the plunge its hard to hold back. But as I am sure you have read tons of posts on here about the subject already. Buy one that has been loved and cherished, perfect history (annual service minimum) , best possible condition and you will, I believe have the fastest-best-value-best-looking-car money can buy.
With this in mind , any time of year is a good time if the right car comes along. Good luck.party

Hi Ewan,
I'm considering selling my 98 Chimaera 400 non PAS. The reason being that I have had a complete change of mind and have decided that I want an Esprit.

If you might be interested, let me know.

Cheers,

Ged

Hi Ewan,

I have been toying with the idea of selling my Chimaera for the last few months, but it's not currently being advertised anywhere as I can't quite bring myself to do itfrown. It is a 2001 4.5 with 28K on the clock. It had done 12K when I got her so I am only the 2nd owner (for the last 6 years). Annual services (every 2-3K miles or so) originally at Harrogate Horseless Carriages but with TrackvRoad since I got her. If you are interested contact me, though I just can't promise at this stage that I will be persuaded to let her go, just yet. Regards....Martin

but I would imagine a late 450 is beyond my budget
