Morning chaps,
I've been lurking for quite some time now and am now in the position to buy into Cerbera ownership, I've got my heart set on a few things but I shan't bore you about those - instead I'd like your opinion on the two cars I've narrowed my search down to.
Firstly, the Titanium Grey one at James Agger looks beautiful, and I love the colour combination - also benefits low mileage (I realise not always beneficial) and being a later car:

Secondly, this rather attractive red number has popped up on a popular auction site. It strikes me as insanely cheap even at the BIN price - can anyone confirm?:

The grey one is almost identical to mine.... Looks lovely :-)
red one looks cheap, there must be a reason, there always is. The info re timing chain is a little lacking in info and doesnt sound quite right to me. I hate red cars and so wouldnt bother, especially with the pink interior trim!
As you know the late 4.2 is actually a 4.5.
Both look like they will need new shockers.

Agger seems to find some excellent cars. Mind you grey is really dull for such an iconic car
Red one is well priced for it's age and mileage. I know the perceived wisdom is often that low miles can be an issue but in reality low miles will always be attractive (often wonder if it is the more miles cer owners who push the whole mileage thing!)
If they are both within seeing distance go and look. James will I am sure bring his along to the east mids tvr meet in a couple of weeks and there will be very knowledgable eyes there

It's not just grey though, is it. Metallic grigio or whatever its called, looks great imo. The candy red one looks like it's worth a punt and pocket the difference for improvements/upgrades. I would want to see it and drive it before buying though, maybe ask the vendor if this is an option.
I might have been being just a wee bit disingenuous calling it dull!
if it was me (and the funds were not an issue) I'd plump for the 4.5 proper service, recent clutch and James Agger does get some fab cars in. Red one is looking good for money but is it that much of a "bargain" once you stick a proper 6 or 12K service on it? and it is at 65K miles mind you it must be a bloomin late model if it was registered in December 2003.

Thanks for the replies, I think you're correct once you factor in a proper service and the security you lose from not buying through a dealership it's less of a steal. My other car's an Alfa so could do with the Cerbera at least behaving itself to begin with!

I hope the cable does not need replacing, it's a 12 step procedure that involves removing the exhaust and prop shaft. No fun without a lift, but still possible with axle stands.
