tvr 1988 s1 2.8 v6

Hoping someone here can help out becoming despersate, my tvr has a ford 2.8 v6 engine i believe to be the the cologne engine, the car has now been off the road since November, it starts first time and revs freely until its put under load, as soon as you try and drive it, it just coughs and splutters and dies, it wont accelarate, it then starts first time and limps home, So far the garage has changed, fuel pump, fuel filters, taken tank out and cleaned it out, fuel injectors, cold start injector, distributer, rocker covers and gaskets,ht leads etc still the same problems please help.

Had very similar problems on my old 2.8 Sierra XR4i, ended up being the fuel injection pump relay, replaced that & all was fine.

Agree with Gareth, try the relay[pink/purple in colour] or because its a Tiv the relay connections. Make sure the air flap on the metering unit is free to move, just press it with your finger, it should be very easy to move.
