Is there many people going to newark this year ! Do you need to book a space to get your jeep on the stand ! As i am hoping to go on the saturday and bring along my jeep if it is back together in time. My head gasket blew and pulled the threads out of the block then when i looked closer it had been helicoiled so i have got my spare block away getting machined and i just have to strip my block and put all my internals in to my spare block and buy some new parts such as rings and bearings gaskets and head studs etc then if all goes to plan i will be there. I went for the first time last year and enjoyed the relaxing frendly atmospheer. Hope to see you there
Yep il be at newark now i think ive solved my problems with the Geep!! i need to book a spot on the stand???? what about camping!?!? i could do with some info on camping as id hoped to come maybe friday evening(if its open)?? Or saturday morning and stay till sunday night!! also does anybody know price of the camping and entry this year?? (im sure you do tech)

Hi folks
Yes the club has got a stand at the Newark show so no worries there just roll onto it and park up in (hopefully) lots of lines.
We are most likely turning up sometime on the Saturday as I am working late on the Friday (unless the rotas change).
Camping is usually through the entrance gate and turn left.
Drive down a dusty track towards the stables (where the nearest toilets are) and find a spot to set up.
Newark is one of the shows where we ARE NOT allowed to camp on the allocated display pitch.
The only thing allowed on there (apart from our vehicles of course) is the club tent.
Last year they threatened to expel any club allowing members to pitch tents on the display areas.
Mind you as the display areas seem to be shrinking anyway there would be no room for the vehicles if even 6 tents set up so please keep the display pitch clear of personnel tents. Hopefully with the Jago's in the camping area in the evening we should all be able to possibly set up a little tent village of Jago owners anyway.
If our display area is the same as the past few years it is straight on from the main gate and then second road on the right.
Please also note there is a 10 mph speed limit which should be observed whilst on the site.
It is the 22nd year anniversary of the Newark show and it is open to the punters from 10am on Saturday and 9.30am on Sunday and closes at 5pm Saturday and 4.30 pm on the Sunday.
Fingers crossed I will met up with some of you at Newark.
Oh yes prices.
If like previous years the actual camping is FREE. Camping allowed on Friday and Saturday nights only.
Kit car drivers can enter the show free but passengers have to pay the full fee which is £8 for adults, £3 for children (5-13 years) but under 5's get in free.
As we are only bringing one vehicle which will most likely be Panther then we like the most other folks will have to pay for the second person.
There is a web site for the show at www.kitcarshow.co.uk
which is possibly worth checking out.

I have now come to a stand still. I took my 3.9 block to get resleved and the machinist has said he is struggling to find some liners, but to cap it all my special pistons that i had in my engine that i have just ruined are 0.5mm smaller than the bore size of my new standard block so my old engine must have been a 3.8L. If i get lucky and get some liners then ill have to put my standard pistons that came with my new engine in my new set up for the rest of the year. But as standard pistons arnt designed to take nitrous it might end up in desaster, Which sums it up on my luck. I managed to get rid of my leaf springs over winter and now have a american ford 9" with all the trick internals and a 4 link set up on and now it supports a 3 speed chevy auto gear box with a ful manual valve body in it. It looks and drives odd and takes some getting used to. Id better put my thinking cap back on and see what i can come up with.. Hope to see you all there. !
yes we will be there friday night all the way from sunny birmingham

You should be OK rolling onto the site at about 5 or 6pm on the Friday evening.
I think that was the time we tended to turn up when we went on the Friday.
Just wish we could do that this year but as I say I am working the late shift so do not fancy a long drive after 10.30 pm that evening when I have run my entire department on my own for 9 solid hours.
Mind you I don't think anyone else would appreciate it on the showground either as it is a 2 hour journey approx
Hopefully see you all some time Saturday afternoon.
I think Richard is hoping to get the club tent over to you for the Friday evening so anyone turning up Friday your help would be appreciated to get it put up on the club stand.
Cheers.

it got a bit further shorter and shorter distances each time really hairy at times with trucks being idiots and really scary at a couple of islands at the shell station he got a tow rope!!! we went 50 yds past and he turned off 'cos it was only travelling feet at a time he rolled into a country lane and it wasn't going any further. tow rope hooked we pulled away ahhhh its working very hard...very very hard......very very very very hard i'm worried...after about a mile i noticed a red dash light ..... oh dear....... so i took the efffing handbrake off and it towed the eagle e type home 4.2jag engine and jan got to ride in a jag [cos we had to be directed to Kinoulton where Dave the Jag owner lived] nice guy when his "getting home stress" had subsided had a cuppa there and got home about 9.15 great weekend had by us - thanks guys [and grand daughter stacy] hope to see you all at the next one
ahhh yes one eagle stopped [briefly] and all passing jagos stopped [and in tech secs case only just before the road sign {health warning samuri's dont stop well on wet grass}}heee heee heee

Glad to hear it sort of worked out in the end.
If we had not had the trailer on we would have seen if we could have hitched the solid link to the front on the car and got him somewhere.
Yes thankfully the only thing that suffered in the sliding stop was the exhaust wrap on the lowest part of the exhaust as the kerb started a little sooner than I thought. When I do the LPG conversion as I will fit a fresh exhaust (so I can install the lambda without a few months later the pipe being rotten I may see if I can not rework the position of the pipe so it stays on the inside of the chassis until the "step" by the front of the rear spring.
The only reason I put it the way it is was (it loops under the main chassis rail about 1/2 way dowm the front foot well) was (a) quicker to do and (b) as it was intended for my sister I did not plan on it doing anything other than driving on the black stuff.
Not a bad stop/slide from 60 to 0 but as you say that sign was close lol.

The LPG tank is going where the Escort tank is at the moment so will only take up the lower "dip" in the boot (did not want to just fill the boot with the tank even though that would be quicker and easier.
So I will get the company I have been chatting to for the bespoke tank for T4x4's petrol supply (That is well on the way to going LPG too) to make a petrol tank that fits in the rear bumper of the Samuri (the fibreglass back end bit) so giving me a few gallons of petrol just in case.
The big rear twin tube bumper will protect the back of the vehicle so no worries of having the fuel tank hit should someone use me to stop themselves.
The only down time will be when I swap the tanks over. Hopefully if the weather does the decent thing and dries up a bit I can get all the front end kit and to some extent the main pipe line in ready so cutting total down time by half if not more.
