Couldn't see any GT2's that took my fancy at mo - but the journey has started - looking for thoughts and any other suggestions
Looking at prancing horses and raging bulls as well... not sure I'll go that way and have decided to ditch idea of 458
Depends on what you want? I would go for the Turbo, but that's my preference. I think the turbo could be used for going to the shops with SWMBO and the kids if I wanted. I'd imagine myself only taking the GT3 out by myself and hooning round all the back roads until it runs out of petrol.
Well Oli there are couple of give aways in Lee's post :
(1) Taking SWMBO to the shops
(2) Hooning around in a GT3 - he'd get lost trying to find the back roads
Back to the matter at hand - not fussed on rear seats but it does come in handy with existing Turbo, but feel I'm missing some drama (even turning the PASM off on last hoon didn't add anything to the experience) - enter the search for the GTx cars :-) The "S" is on the list as it has the sensible bits checked off in terms of day2day use.
Save your self £65k and buy this and have a bigger grin on your face
And plenty of drama here

There is a space in my drive where the 944 used to be. I honestly would buy the Turbo. After the weekends issues, I might be buying something sooner rather than later.

If the car is for enjoying as a toy, then yes, the GT3 is ideal. Lindsay should be able to give you the low down on how good/bad the suspension is on our local roads. If I was keeping the 928 for taking a wee Sunday drive with the family, then it would be the GT3. If I only have one toy, then I can't buy something for myself and need to be able get the family in too ( I need to be able to take both of them out if they asks, wife and teenage daughter ).
Buy the GT3 so I can have a shot in it!

Right Steve, when we going out in my 430 so you can make it an easy decision
430 is bargain of the century right now, coupled with 2 year Ferrari approved warranty from main dealer you can't go wrong. The Beetles won't give the same drama and event that the horsey would
Go test drive one at least, you won't be dissapointed.
John.

While I would take a GT3 over the Turbo, I'd take either of these over both of them.

Your on. It is indeed tempting my heart strings and SWMBO is sending me pics of California's - which I'm steering well clear on !

Have to say the Scud's look pretty tempting John
Steve - it comes down to what you want - a wife or a mistress??
Your current X50 with a slush box is I suspect a bit dull - largely why Willmac got out of his and his was a manual.
I know you don't need a daily driver as you have the big BMW so this should be an exciting toy - no?
The turbo (even with the extra power of the S) is not an exciting toy. It does the big numbers but in a gran turismo style with no heart and soul.
The GT3 listed is not a GT3 its an RS and as such is as close to an exciting toy as Porsche do - Al's GT2 may be close but it has a different feel - sure Al can comment as he came out of a 997 turbo. GT2 RS may be out of price bracket.
The car you should have gone for is now sold out - GT3 RS 4.0............great investment car!
Anyway if it was my money GT3RS or maybe GT2 all the way if it has to be a 100K+ Porsche, probably RS as a slight fave.
OR.............I'd probably actually by one of these....if you are going to have a mistress might as well make her a porn star!!
