Any ideas on suspension improvements for Defender 90 2003

Hi all
My daily driver is a 2003 Defender 90 with 109k on the clock, it's probably my age, but I'm starting to feel that the old girl is giving me a bit of a hard ride! I don't do that much off roading, so I'm asking you knowledgeable lot for suggestions on spring/shocker/bush improvements that will give the 90 a better on road ride.
On a similar subject has anyone on here dropped a Disco autobox in their Defender? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the change to a slushbox.

The autobox conversion is possible.
Ashcrofts do a kit to do it.

Re suspension, sure someone more knoweldgable than me will be along shortly, but there are a lot of spring rates avaialble so you should get the result you want.

I had this kit on my Defender. Not cheap but the ride was superb!

A cheaper option would be to change the shocks.....I suggest using adjustable Konis, I have them on my LSE and once again the ride is transformed!

IMHO Fox shocks. Totally tunable to your exact specifications,softer/harder, whatever and an example of an environmentally sustainable' component (if you ever get finger poked by an environmentalist type). These shocks are available as OEM replacements and are rebuildable, so should a seal go or a part wear out, take the unit off and send it back and they can repair them. I have them on my Range Rover Classic rally car for competition purposes and give them more grief than any road car will.
All they need to know is the spring rates for each corner and they can tune to suit.
Well worth the money.

+1, there are off-the-shelf dampers tuned specifically for Defender vehicle. Paul did a great job of tuning the Fox dampers on my Bowler too - 5 to 10mph quicker around corners on the return journey!All they need to know is the spring rates for each corner and they can tune to suit.
