Kinda like the way the concept looks, although I'm hoping the production version looks more like the old one.

It's a bit like Porsche and the 911. Whatever Landrover do will be wrong. They have to move it on at some point. I wish them all the best with it.

I prefer the current shape. That concept reminds me of one of these...

Which incidently I actually quite like.

I really like it smile

Cant wait to read the full spec and see what they have done with the interior.

I'll also be interested to know if they kept the promised live axels front and rear.

I'm hoping they also release a double cab pick up with a 1T payload at a reasonable price to take on the L200 ad the Navara.

that looks like a Skoda sodding Yeti..don't change it Landrover you muppets, you have the Evoque for superficial numpties with more cash than sense..

LR need to remain true to their history and retain at least one no-compromise off roader. In that respect they need to look to how Porsche operate with the 911, a subtle evolution of the design..

please, please don't stop making the Defender

I also kinda like it, but there is a hint of that Nissan cube thing at the back.

Landrover have never made a no-compromise offroader; why would they start now? The need for a replacement light utility/commercial 4x4 has been there for a couple of decades. The Defender is comically expensive to build, terribly packaged and is ham-strung by historical baggage and an inexplicable retention of backward compatibility. Bring it on. I would qualify this by adding that I have owned Landys, and indeed still own one; they are great but I'm not blind to their faults.

I think it looks awful, and that's coming from a massive Land Rover fan frown It looks like a Nissan Cube crossed with a Fiat Panda, with a bit of Skoda Yeti thrown in.

I know people say that they have to move on etc, which I partly agree with, but what's actually wrong with the current Defender? It still does, and always will, look great. Don't fix what ain't broke frown

Its going to be at least half a meter taller than a skoda yeti!

What ever design Land Rover came out with, they were always going to upset people because it didnt look exactly like the current one which is what they have stuck with every time they have evolved the current one.

I'd like to see defender with an all signig gearbox like the one fitted to the Disco and maybe something that goes back to what they fitted to 300TDI, but hopefully a bit stronger!

I'm also hoping they make it easy for the averge person or squaddie mechanic to fix in the field. Te current Disco is a body off job to change the turbo. Surely they will see hey cant allow that for the Defender replacement!

I must admit it does look like a Yeti!!

Really needs to be a super simple modular body though, obviously not made like the old one but a similar concept so you can chop & change it easily would be cool.

Also needs some Toyota running gear wink

I wonder if they'll still have the chocolate diffs, the rubbish engines, and the horrid ergonomics? It wouldn't be a Defender if it didn't.

Looked a bit Kia Soul when I first looked at it. Hope it does well, the current model certainly is a British institution

Relax, it will never see production. They do this every few years and then decide to stretch the Defender on a bit longer.
