For some reason the SQL OLEDB drivers on my PC have gone . (The driver files there, just not registered anymore).

So I'm trying to re-install MDAC 2.7. It gets as far as trying to load Webdata components and crases with:

Advanced INF Installer: INF Install failure: Access denied.

I've looked at msdn and can only find this http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;248849 which doesn't help.

I have admin rights to the PC, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Any ideas on sorting this would be greatfully received.

i.e. any one know how to manually register drivers using odbcconf.exe?

TIA

FG

Result!

One of the usenet links suggested that you can re-install mdac back to original state by doing this...

right click winnt(slash)inf (slash) mdac.inf and select install.

it simply re-registers all the required dlls.

Well, I didn't know you could do that

Thanks again Matt.

Smart!

Just doing my moderator bit, for future reference (and while Ted is working on the Parser) if you use double backslashes for a backslash in a post they appear.
