In a few weeks time I'm off on a mate's stag do where the daytime actvity involves driving a F2 stock car, together with Reliant Robins, old Sierras (for RWD giggles) and another car where one steers and one does the pedals.

Wondered if anyone else had done the same day (its at Northampton) or if anyone has driven an F2 stock car? Interested to know how well they drive (and of course any top tips!).

When they said Sierras, sadly I doubt an RS500 was on the list....

Booked this exact experience for the FIL's 50th birthday. Some advice - bring warm clothes - its bitterly cold if windy. He had the F2s - practice, heats and a final, driving a Robin Reliant, half n half - two fiesta fronts welded together with reverse steering, a blindfold autotest and some old sierras ragging round a gravel track. looked good fun. Then there was a video thing to watch as well. Expect alot of people there, and a fair bit of waiting around. The bloke who does the organising is also the barman, chef, race starter, ticket man, the works, but a genuinely nice bloke.

Thr only gripe i had was paying £10 as a spectator, which i though was a bit much, but otherwise i enjoyed it. Lunch is provided - a burger and some salad then ice cream or cake.

I would advise getting there early and letting them know you are a stag party, so you all end up in one group, not half doing one bit then the other - no fun if you cant all race together. The f2s dont go full chat either, maybe 40mph on tarmac, which doenst look that quick compared to the real racing, but i imagine it feels it

That's great, thanks.
