Hi all,

Ph wisdom needed. I'm hopefully buying a small strip of land next to my garden and having a brainfart!

In order to
A) be correct

But more importantly, B) not do myself out of any ground!

Where should I measure the new boundary from? Outer edge of old fence, inner edge?

All help appreciated

Use the centre of the road as a datum and work everything out from there

I would contact a good surveyor (used to defining boundaries, when I was in Surrey I use a guy in Basingstoke but that was 15 years ago and I have no record of his name) who will be able to identify valid datum points and undertake the correct measurements.
