I have a rover v8 twin turbo and I put a Helix Organic clutch in it was only rated to 500lbft. I am now exceeding this and getting some slip. Its in a TVR chimaera which has the t5 gearbox.

I have found from my old Sierra cossie 2wd days an AP 6 Paddle clutch in my parts. This also used to use the T5 gearbox.

I have compared the clutches to another old one I have and they are the same diameter and the same spline in the centre.

The paddle however sits slightly lower on the flywheel side as you can see from the first picture...Paddle on left (sorry bout the bad quality). Do you think this would cause any problems in the installation. I would like to use the paddle if I could. Also its slightly longer on the top, you can make out across the spirit level.

Many Thanks

Neal

There will likely be plenty of room on the splines etc for the plate to move without fouling.

The chances of it not working are very slim. Just measure the thickness of the two plates though. Sometimes AP are odd and make their organic plates much thicker. So if it is, it may not clamp the paddle plate up properly.

Did you get it all working, as planning an upgrade myself.
