I've had an email reply from the Holiday Inn at Lancaster, It's pricier than Penrith North Lakes which was a bit of a shock. This is the Email-------

Good afternoon Tony

Thank you for considering the Holiday Inn Lancaster for your car event, we would be delighted to cater for you and confirm we have availability on Friday, 13th July and Saturday 14th July 2012. The 20th and 21st July are not available.

The rate we could offer is £120.00 per room, per night to include bed, breakfast, use of the conference room, full use of our bottom car park and vat.

There is no problem with you having a hog roast in the car park on the Saturday and we could provide the cutlery and plates.

With regards to the Friday would you require use of the car park during the day and night, I was just wondering if it would be noisy at nights too or just during the day.

If you have not already been to the Holiday Inn Lancaster I would suggest if possible you visiting us to see the facilities we can offer.

If you would like any further information or wanted to make a booking, please do not hesitate to contact me again on

I hope we shall have the pleasure of welcoming you to the Holiday Inn Lancaster.

Many thanks
Amanda

I have been on the web site to book a room for the above date, it comes back at £85 for B&B per night. I thought a deal could be done on that price for multiple room booking. Maybe down to £65-70 per room for B&B.

Having not rang her back yet, I can only assume that the extra room charge is an add on for hire of the conference room. Maybe I wasn't clear on the phone when I asked about the room, I thought I had said it was only for the Sat evening to eat and drink in and not for the whole weekend. I will phone tomorrow for a crack with her but if it doesn't come down massivly in price then I will be saying no thank you.

Course it will darling..(Sid james type laugh)..wah wah wah...

That sounds promising...But a hog roast in the car park..This aint a dogging event tell her..We are civilised human beings..Well before the rusty anyway..laugh..getting the price down on the rooms would be great..Did she say how many rooms would be available?...Oh and if shes a sort then tell her its customary at this event for the manageress to sample a rusty nail or two and par take in the evenings festivities...This also applies to any single top totty..lovely chubblies..

Maybe worth having a look at this;
http://www.parkhall-hotel.co.uk/

In Chorley Lancs, next to the M6. Considered them a few years ago, but the owners went into administration so we went to Blackpool instead.
They have the benefit of huuuuuuuge carparks and a Medieval themed night with entertainment and banquet and a Theme park too!.

Yes those car parks do look big - room enough for a jousting ring so we can have top-down wedge jousting (armour optional).

For the more parsimonious of us I see you can share a room between 6 for under £30 a night - including brekky!!
