SItting beside HMS Belfast today was what I assume is a warship as its grey and has U29 on it. However its definitely not a U-boat! Anyone know what it is?

Oh and the other side of Tower Bridge there appeared to be a cruise ship. Anyone know what it was/

Smiler.

I think the cruise ship might be the Abramovich (sp) yatch.

She's a Niteroi class frigate, but differs from the rest of the fleet as she serves as a training vessel for the Brazilian Navy. I saw her in Amsterdam while working on the STS Lord Nelson - she departed the day after we arrived:

Not sure why she was so far from home waters - bit of defence diplomacy (cocktail parties on the flight deck) around Europe perhaps?

You on the 12-4? smile

Not yet Dave - North Star seemed quite eager to take my CV a couple of weeks ago, and I'm sending stuff off to numerous companies. I did some of the tall ships races and a European Youth Exchange (hence Amsterdam, and also Bruges) with the JST. Fun, but not a 'real' job!

The Brasil was in the UK 2 years ago also - moored in South Dock at Canary Wharf for a while.

She's a Vospers ship built in the UK to a very similar design that became the Type 21 in RN Service. As stated above, she was built without weapons and with only navigation sensors as a training ship.

I decided to take a stroll at lunch and took these, pretty boat but I prefer the little tender TBH - I'm a sucker for these wooden craft.
