The first person to be prosecuted under this new law is a Magistratess Court Clerk!

I wonder if the phone-tapping cops and some ex-NOTW employees will be 2nd, 3rd, 4th...

Presumably even before this law came into effect the clerk could still have been done over this, PCJ and misconduct in a public office.

T'would seen unlikely.

I think I am right in saying that all the incidents in the NoW row occurred some years before the Bribery Act was in existence. In which case prosecution cannot take place under the act.

There are a whole series of offences which appear to have been committed in the NoW row. But I do not think that includes offences under the Bribery act.

Yes - court officioals have fallen foul of the law on many previous occasions even without the Bribery Act.
