Battery o.k. engine turns over o.k. no supply to the petrol pump relay coil, but fuel gauge appears to be working which rules out demobiliser? have tried disconnecting and re-connecting the battery.

Possibly the "inertia cut out switch thingy" (technical terminolgy). If I recall you can access this by undoing the glove pocket screws and there is a black box with a pop out pin switch up there, and the switch needs pushing back in.

Worth a try I'd say.

Could be a relay... worth doing a search as this was discussed about 6 weeks ago and fixed my issue

I had this on my Chimaera a few years ago, engine turned over like a train, all guages did what they were expected to do, but didn't hear the fuel pump engaging. Mr AA couldn't identify the problem, so I got taken home on a low loader. Started playing and having a look myself, tentatively proding the fuses etc, all of a sudden fuel pump cuts in, engine starts, no problem, turns out the spade fuse protecting the engine ECU thing had not blown, but snapped, AA man even took the said fuse out, looked at it, "no that's fine mate", so I changed the fuse, bingo. Good luck.

Finally managed to get a local garage to sort the problem. They replaced a relay and fixed a bad connection! Thanks to all!
