2012 Ring Trip - Easter or Summer?

I don't know the exact dates the Ring will open next year, but presumably it will be open for Easter again, but judging by my previous trip and the stuff I have heard over the last few years, it will be a bit manic if we go then.
Is summer a better bet? Is it open all summer usually?
The upside of easter, is that you probably get to see more interesting metal?
