The PS Pump on a 51 plate Fiesta 1.25 Zetec with Air Con needs replacing, as it's weeping PS fluid from behind the unit. Have been told it's a known fault.

Ive also been told that Ford ended up putting several types of PS Pump units on the Fiesta.

I've just bought a used one from a breakers on eBay advertised as - Powersteering Pump 1999-2005- Have had several conversations with them and they sound ok. Answered lots and questions and wanted to make sure the unit would fit themselves too. With a few questions of their own.

My old unit is still on the car. But the fitting brackets/locations and pump pipe work all look to sit in the axact same places. Both pumps have the same number of grooves in the pulley wheel matching the Auxilary Belt and the diamitory of the breakers pulley is 117mm. The diamitor on my current pulley is around 120mm, difficult to know it's size exactly but it sounds like a fit. Will double check when I get it off the car.

The question i have. As there's no way of telling if the car it came off had Air Con. If all the attachment points and pulley size is the same, is it important the PS Pump came from a car with Air Con. As the breakers Pump is advertising as fitting a 1999-2005 car. Mines a 2001.
