Video: New Porsche 911 On The Road

You can't help but get the feeling these days that car manufacturers do rather milk their new car launches, and few more so than Porsche. The new 911 hasn't even been subjected to motor show glare yet, but we've already seen it in spy shots, in disguised development videos and in still photos.

We're still a little while away from actually being able to get bums in seats, but this latest promo video - the first time we've seen the car in undisguised guise on the road - should cause more than a few Porschephiles to wipe the dribble from their chin.

Lovely. But we do wish that Porsche would hurry up and launch the damn thing...

It is no doubt a fantastic car.

But I do find the styling a bit generic. The profile is pretty much the same as any other car. It has lost something in the styling - I think it may be the rear 3/4 windows - they are too compressed, reminds me of a XK jaguar.

dont get me wrong ........i get all the old vw beetle jokes with mine , but dont you think in the final still shot on the video this looks like a new vw beetle that an elephants sat on ????..............

Not bad.. Looks pretty good from the rear. Front looks the same as the 997.

I actually think in that last shot it's starting to take on the Cayman shape??? Especially towards the rear.

On the music thing, here's a very quick re-edit with a different soundtrack.
Obviously it would eventually need the sequence cuts synching to the 'beat' but it just shows how much the choice of music can add to a piece:

Great car but Porsche just don't have the bottle to bring out an all NEW 911. I'm just completely bored with that shape and have been for number of years, yeah a lot of engineering work goes on underneath, I just wonder if they have anyone with any design flair left in their idea's department...same old same old.....
