another good advert for the G-Wiz...

Looks like a fairly low speed crash with pretty devastating results:

Mr Walker said: ‘What concerns me is that this vehicle was destroyed in this collision in a way that I have not seen a vehicle destroyed before.’
AA president Edmund King said: ‘When the G-Wiz has undergone safety tests it has failed appallingly. We have raised concerns about this because even though it is meant for driving around towns, you can cause devastating injuries when just going at 30 or 40mph.’

You'll find similar pictures of any car, if you try. The modern obsession with crash safety really annoys me, it has done more to ruin modern cars than any other factor, IMO.
If she wasn't wearing a seatbelt, she probably would have died in any car.

I suspect if she had been in a normal Supermini she may well have been killed, if she hadnt been yacking on the phone she probably wouldnt have had the accident but not, the Daily Mail dont say that they take the sensationalist angle about the G-Wiz "imploding" like some kind of evil, motorised black hole.
Ok its a POS and not very safe in a crash but if you are so daft as to drive one without that in mind and drive it without a belt or paying any attention then it may well happen, perhaps she would have been better off with a Q7/RRS for unbelted, distracted pulling into the path of other cars type action and she could then be simply "Shaken" and feel a little guilty about the poor sod in the Octavia she killed or injured.
Ok, its tragic but it could have been anyone coming the other way and the Octavia swerves to avoid her poor driving, as it is she paid the price.

Wise words from the husband, has hit the nail on the head I think!
Dr Nadal described the G-Wiz, which is made by the Indian firm Reva, as ‘a lovely little car for pottering around London’ which needed to be driven with an ‘appreciation of risk’ like a motorbike. He added: ‘It is very much not the vehicle to have a collision with another car in because they are obviously very flimsy.’
