Since I started the DS project I've learned a lot about each country having its own racing colours. How about a thread showing them all? I'll begin.

France:

French Racing Blue (Bleu de France)

Lancia produced racing Fulvias in a number of "national" colours (along with matte black bonnets).
Italy was red and I think Holland was orange (makes sense!)

Yes. The USA was also white:

PS People are strating to cast doubt on the famous white cars turning silver overnight story. There is no photgraphic evidence, nor any records wihtin M-B themsevles. And they, famously kept every record

Belgium's Racing Yellow:

That'd be my fav for the day. I'm partial, having grown up in a pair of (much paler) yellow Dauphines. And I was in Belgium once... bowtie

It's an old myth, perpetuated by Neubauer in his autobiography. "Don Alfredo" never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Was there any significance with noseband and stripe colours?? Or was it just to differentiate loads of BRG or red cars? Did any other manufacturers BRG car's use yellow nosebands or stripes or was that just a Lotus trademark??
