After a busy few weeks comparing the pro and cons of purchasing a canyon xc 5.0 nerve or something from a uk based bike shop, I have ordered a Giant Anthem X4. Dealing with a local shop plus substantial discounts on 2011 model (30%). just got to wait two weeks before I can pick it up. Roll on the Viking challenge 2nd October

Cheers

You MUST buy a shock pump if you dont have one.

Take some serious time to set the bike up. Start with the manufactueres reccomendations, but really there a shot in the dark.

Correctly setup and tuned suspension is VITAL to the performance of the bike, particularly on a Maestro Giant frame. They are very, very good once dialled in but from experience its a narrow window your aiming for.

And no pressure washing!

my bike came with a shock pump. Might be worth checking before you buy one
