As everyone else does it.... What car?
Discussion
Selling one of our cars at the moment and want to keep our Mk1 Golf safe during the winter months. Looking for a car with the following criteria:
- Estate/4x4
- Motorway comfort must be decent
- Big boot (for the dog)
- Plenty of rear seat leg room for either luggage or passengers
- Reliable (well, as long as I won't be replacing bits every month I'm not too worried about this)
- Mpg not vital but would be nice to see it above 30mpg a majority of the time
- A bit of power wouldn't hurt
- A few toys would be nice
- BUDGET - £5k
This is because we borrowed my OH's Dad's W-reg Audi A6 1.8T for a weekend away and it was huge, made me decide a bigger car makes sense with the dog. We also do a few long journeys during the course of the year so motorway comfort would be nice
Cheers

Would agree with Luke ,go for a Subaru Outback or Legacy.
They've huge boots , reliable , go for the 3.0ltr H6 which is the top model so all mod cons , power is 208 bhp old model / 238bhp newer shape ( approx), they will average 30mpg on the motorway , very comfy , and good room in the back , plus it's AWD as a bonus
