Online applies to all the 'Elite' extras if you want them, standard online gameplay will still be the same.

Sounds like the "extras" are similar to what Battlefield already offers for free...

I love that video. smile

I am a keen Black ops player and would consider paying monthly for it.

Personally I couldn't give a t0ss about stats and facebook. Activision's attitude is just disgusting & dam right greedy. Not sure exactly how much profit they will be making just from the game sales but at a guess there's going to be a few people at the top who's wallets are going to get allot fatter even with out the extra subscription rubbish. Grrr makes me mad.

Is it known how many maps & weapons the majority be missing out on?

Indeed. One of the things that put me off the Call of Duty games was that maps are paid for which meant that I could be playing then get kicked off as the server went to a map I don't have!

Who'd have thought it? A business maximising revenue...

I was going to give some reasons as to why I don't want to pay extra for something I've already bought and all that crap but unlike yourself I don't really want to point out the obvious stuff so I'll just tell you to shut the fk up you arsy cnt.

COD will never be pay to play according to Robert Bowling.

Its just a few extras that will be chargeble on cod elite but theres still alot of it whats free. And you dont need it to play the game anyway.

That story is from May.

You aren't required to have Elite to play MW3 multiplayer, it's just optional extras that won't affect online at all. The whole maps thing is that if you have Elite, then you get the MW3 map packs for free rather than paying for them like we do now.

Elite is a computer program that is connected to the game, not something which will alter the core gameplay within the game itself.

Not many people will subscribe, but there are enough COD obsessants (myself included) who would be willing to pay for the features that Elite comes with, which is fine. If you don't get it, you won't really be missing out.

Pazzini, you seriously need an adjustment mate... go and have a beer or something and calm down. Calling someone an arsy (and doing it deliberatly in such a way to bypass the swear filters) is bang out of order!

I happen to agree with those who are not surprised and couldn't give two stuffs. It's a business, year would love everything for free, but fact is I'm not a benefit scrounging scum bucket who expects to get it all given to me.
It's posters like yourself who get so angry and upset over such trivial things who bring this place down to Jeremy Kyle levels.

When do the schools go back again?

Another one here who agrees. I've probably spent £60 in total to buy Battlefield and all associated map packs (including Vietnam) and extras. I do the same with Forza/Ace Combat etc so why should it be such a problem with COD? As has been said, maximising profits is at the forefront of any developer's list of things to achieve. The most realistic and worthwhile gameplay comes at a price these days, and you can't expect developers to create additional content for nothing, just to please the general public, half of which probably don't install it anyway.

Have a little think about the way you talk to people on here Pazzini. Although you have an opinion, it doesn't mean that everyone else is wrong. If you don't like Activision's attitude, why don't you boycott the game release. See how far that gets you. Or even better, just don't buy it. That'll learn 'em. Don't however go namecalling in such a manner just because someone else's opinion differs from yours. We know you'll still buy the game and the additional content anyway, so in a few months time, your rant will mean nothing.

To be fair, so much profit is made on game sales expecially from independant/external houses like activision.

People like Sony and Micrsoft depend on things like extra's and game sales to make money back on the consoles which are sold at a loss. Activision, EA and all the rest make a healthy enough profit without having to money grad from an already loyal fan base who will spend there hard earned on the day of release even if it means eatings beans on toast at work for a month. ~(just me............oh good!)

So i can see Pazz's point of view because not everyone is a multi company director with mapped 535d's coming out of the arse's!

So you seriously think companies like Activison make enough profit as it is so should start working for free? Seriously?

With regards to your last point, I totally agree not everyone can afford game add on's etc. There is a very simple solution if you can't afford them, don't buy them. You are never forced.

They aren't working for free though are they. Like stated that will still sell millions of copies and still make millions of pounds from loyal fans who have bought games and all the add ons. I have bought all three map packs for Black ops, MW2, WAW and MW1 as well as the games themselves these do start to add up.

i think further exloitation of loyal fans who stick with the games series should be rewarded with something other than rising costs to keep up with the jones's!

Like i have already stated the profits they are making from the games themselves is astronomical compared to that of the actual console's in house team as they have to somehow recoup the money from the losses made on the consoles.

But you're missing/ignoring the most fundamental point to business, make money.

What sort of business would they be if they said right. we've made $50 million from Black Ops now, let's call it a day on the money making and do the next 2 map packs for free.

Why would they do this when they know full well that people will pay for add on's like you said you have, as have I.

Don't get me wrong I'd love to get a free map pack etc but it won't happen because it doesn't need to happen. If the COD series was on it's arse I'd understand but it's absolutely booming and probably the start of something that is going to grow and expand at an incredible pace.

Anyone that thinks different is either very naive or incredibly ignorant IMO.
