Diesel - blue additive?

Trying to buy a second-hand car and there has been mention (second hand - this is all happening via the father in law who is looking at cars for us) of a diesel Focus that is requiring blue additive. This apparently happens at about the frequency of a cam belt change, so tens of thousands of miles between it happening.
I've never heard of it before - can anybody throw any light on it?

It may be refined pig piss but I've not heard of any car manufacturers using it yet.It's only used in bigger diseasel engines.If it's a PSA derived 1.6 diesel, it does require a fuel additive, but it's not Adblue
The additive used in that engine needs topping up every 3 years/37.5k miles, and is used to lower the light off temp of the particulate matter in the DPF during a regeneration
Adblue is something different and is used mainly in commercial vehicles, although some car manufacturers use it too - it's used to lower NOX levels.

Seems that, according to http://www.etis.ford.com which allowed me to find a service schedule for the exact vehicle, it's a case of
"Refill with EOLYS176 and reset according to TIS service instructions - 1.6/2.0 Duratorq-TDCi with EURO IV Emission and DPF, if applicable (LTS 23 563 4)"
which needs doing every 37.5k miles, in addition to the diesel particulate filter replacing at 75k intervals.
Looks like I need to talk directly to the dealer to see if he really means adblue or EOLYS, and my local garage to see what the servicing costs are likely to be.
Buying cars is a complete effin nightmare...
