Don't normally like chrome cars, but saw this parked in the Mclaren Service Centre car park today....I think it looked pretty cool

End of the day it's tape - a sticker (I assume it's not polished ALU?) smile - and I think it's tacky...

When you can achieve some AMAZING finishes with modern paints - the depth of colour and shine on some cars is astonishing - that's just nasty IMO

I think its pretty nice, the Grey one next to it though is nicer!

They've always got a few of them down there parked outside haven't they. Haven't seen that Chrome one yet though.

They should call it Arab silver but I guess that might be deliberate. Horrific.

You can paint it all the colours of the rainbow for me,but it still cant hide such a dull looking car.

Saw a grey one in chelford the other day & i barely noticed it,its such a shame because i really liked the Mclaren F1.

That's real paint, not some film. Done using the same chrome paint as on the F1 cars...

It was done as a show car for something in the US I believe. This colour won't be available to the public to buy.

I saw a blue left hooker one, prototype number 3 according to the sticker on the door, being refulelled by a Mclaren Bod up near J 10 M40 this morning. Sounded great.

Jenson button was driving a chrome mp4/12c around manchester(along with an F1 car) on monday and i have to say it looked pretty tasty in the flesh,it could well of been the same car.Still, unless you are a footballer or some other idiot with no taste i think you would probably go for a more 'normal' colour.

Once and for all Turbo engines do NOT sound great. No matter what variant. There isn't a turbo engine in the world that sounds as good as a screaming NA lump. tongue out

Disagree. Have heard one of these (MP4 12C) at full chat and sounded amazing...agreed, there are better sounds too, but these still sound great. I remember seeing an F40 years ago giving it some welly, sounded pretty awesome too if I remember correctly

McLaren, why? It's passé, stick to what you do best.

If it was a special show car, maybe it would have looked better in full Mclaren F1 livery (minus sponsors decals)

It was a showcase for AkzoNobel at Pebble Beach.

The people who make the (same) paint that's on the racing cars.

Still not for me. However....with the decals as suggested then maybe, perhaps, probably not smile
