What can be programmed by OPC
Discussion
You have a Cayman ?
Your OPC will scratch his head to having the windows drop when the tailgate opens.
I am assuming you want the windows to drop so that when you shut the tailgate it doesn't bounce against the air pressure?
Whereabouts are you ?
I can give you the coding instructions, however an OPC may still not do this for you. There are other coding that can be done. Sport mode can be retrofitted but that requires a new switch panel and an enabling code which is only available from Porsche although you can get the parts and code from the US but you still need someone with a dealer computer to code it.

Thanks Nic just looking for simple codes that can be programmed in. Tail closes easily with the doors/windows open, but....
Here are some extras:Daylight running lights.
Front fog lights stay on when full beam is on.
Sidemarkers function as indicators. (USA only)
Windows can be open and closed using key in the door and using the remote.
Windows drop when opening rear hatch then close when hatch shuts (allows the hatch to be dropped shut).
Door locking and opening options, single door, trunk unlocking only unlocks trunk and not doors.
Delay for remote to operate locks can be varied.
Relocking timing can be varied.
Sports Chrono (the wart) can be set to be lit all the time. (If you have chrono)

On the subject of programming is there some reason the (or just my!) Cayman S requires the door handles to be pulled twice to open the door? A 11-plate Boxster S I recently drove didn't have this.
it's the autolock function - my cayman, 911 and boxster has done it .. when you move off the car locks you then unlock it by either presssing the button on the dash (key symbol and with red LED) then opening the door normally, or pulling it twice...SImes.

UK. Presumeably you have a 3500 mile long USB lead
No, I am London based now

You only need to double tug a door that is locked. Chances are the auto-lock feature is enabled on your car. It can be turned off.Edited by NickUSA on Friday 2nd September 07:56

I would like a couple of these things done...e.g. I hate the fact that when I go to open the boot to get something I then have to lock the car - its easy to forget as I don't expect the whole car to unlock.
Are these things something that the layman can do themselves?
No it's not something the layman can do you need either a dealer or someone with a PIWIS.Are these things something that the layman can do themselves?
btw the car will re-lock if you don't open either of the doors, but only after a pre-set delay; this can also be changed as can the unlock doors on opening the boot.

Really want the window drop when tailgate opens then shut windows after...
I really wanted this on my Cayman. Took the car to the supplying dealer (Chester OPC) who said it couldn't be done. What they did do however was adjust the delay you get when opening the tailgate or the front boot with the keyfob - the default delay was far to long and an absolute pain. So it's not like they were being unhelpful, they simply didn't know how to do it. I'd still like to get it done. Most OPCs are unwilling for various reasons to do coding of non-published features.
When I lived in USA it was much the same. I ended up with a PIWIS as a result of some work I was doing there.
I learned very quickly how to use it properly and found numerous useful features take could be either changed or added.
I freely offered this coding to anyone who asked. Mostly done at Ace Cafe type meets.
As I am now in the UK I am more than willing to do this, again for free.
Don't ask for the impossible ie adding sport chrono without the codes from Porsche or illegal ie reseting of overrevs.
(Just realised that you are probably Telford Mike across on the 'Cayman Club' website (Planet-9). Strangely enough I am Nick_USA across there too)
