I cannot turn the bloody alarm off, apart from by isolating the battery - Anyone know what the problem is?

Symptoms:
1 connect the battery - car locks and arms the alarm
2 push the key fob button - it lights up but the alarm does not disarm
3 alarm starts deafening me - continue pushing the button and it will stop for a split second...

Can anyone recommend a mobile auto-electrician in the Bournemouth area...

Hi, make sure that when you connect the battery that you do it in one go and you do not connect and disconnect it several times whilst connecting it, Failing that try Carl Baker, although he is near Porsmouth, if you search on here you will find plenty of threads.

good luck

+1 This, no question. He is nearer Petersfield.

If you mean the LED on the remote lights up that would suggest you could have a Foxguard alarm, with two buttons on the remote?

One button on the remote - I think it is an older alarm - the car is L Reg....

If you knew what make the alarm was you could then try resyncing the remote to see if you can get it to go again, each make has its own procedure. I will assume you will already have changed the remote battery, regardless of whether the LED lights up or not, if not that should be your first move.

Failing that you will have to get it ripped out and start again in which case Carl would indeed be your man.
