Say for example I was to buy a GoPro HD, is there usually much interest in hiring it out when I am not using it?

Is it worth the risk of it getting damaged/lost/stolen?

I don't want to do it as a business, more just offer it to friends. If you were doing a track day would you be tempted to hire one from a mate for the day?

Personally I wouldn't dream of charging a mate to use a camera of mine and I wouldn't expect any of my mates to charge me to use their cameras either.

Ok maybe not really good mates, but people I know but aren't on my speed dial. Basically its just to recoup the cost of the bloody things.
