Can anyone suggest one or two please?

Planning a few days in the city imminently, so looking for a couple of places for evening meals. Not Michelin stars, but not Pizza Hut either.

Many thanks in advance.

Very nice Italian

If you want a nice steak the grill is very good but expensive

Also the Corinthian is very posh surroundings without outrageous prices

Osteria Piero sounds like something you get if you don't eat enough calcium. But it looks ideal, thanks. Definite probability that one.

The Corinthian - is that the casino?

There'll be more experienced Glasgow diners along soon, no doubt, but my favourite place is Picollo Mondo on Argyle Street in the city center. It's a lovely little Italian place.

The Corinthian is (I think) a nightclub, bar, restaurant, and has recently opened a casino inside.

Osteria Piero is nice, only been once though but it was a good experience.

Another vote for Crab Shakk yes

The Bothy, on Ruthven Lane, just off Byres Rd is another favourite of mine.

I've suggested this before, but Zizzi's on Cresswell Lane is a good bet too, I tend to steer clear of chain type places, and to be honest I was less than impressed with their Princes Square joint, but the Cresswell Lane restaurant is very good.

The Dhabba is the best Indian restaurant I've been to in Glasgow, in fact probably the best I've ever been to.

2 Fat ladies & the buttery on Argyle St (trip advisors top rated Glasgow eatery)
Koolba on candleriggs for the best curry in Glasgow.
Jamie's Italian on George Sq is becoming a favourite for me these days.
Tropiero (brazilian rodizio) is also excellent for something a bit out of the ordinary although I see they're starting to spring up this side of the Atlantic.

Crabshakk (unpretentious but excellent seafood)
The Dhabba (amazing North Indian)
Dhakin (equally great South Indian)
The Italian Caffe Enoteca (best Italian in town)
Café Gandolfi (the Daddy. Best food in Glasgow)
Gandolfi Fish (upmarket seafood)

To be honest, you’re spoilt for choice. Glasgow has one of the best restaurant scenes in the UK.

Guy's in Merchant City is another decent shout.

Mother India for the best Indian food in the city, although I personally prefer cafe india.

Gandolfi's has a cracking reputation, but I'm yet to try it myself.

Everyone,

We have just got back from Glasgow.

Entirely upon your recommendations here we ate at Ostia Piero the first night, Two Fat Ladies (city centre) the second night and Stravaigin the last night. They were all excellent, thank you.

I must say that I was very impressed with Glasgow. Vibrant and exciting - it seems like a place that's going somewhere and the locals are extremely proud of their city. I look forward to going back soon.

Thanks again for the restaurant tips, greatly appreciated.
