living to a ripe old age

we can reasonably expect to live well into our 70s here in the West ,
out here in Siberia , things are a lot diffrent ,life expectancy for the average male is 56 in reality its much lower,
Ive just come from the scene attending a NAD at work , the chap was 39 years old ! He suffered a MI , by the time we got to him within 30mins , he was sadly beyond help , This is the fourth case this year at work. Ages from

We have started fitness training , but cardiovascular training is a bit alien to our Russian counterparts , they are mainly interested in weight training , combine this with a stodgy diet loaded with fats , heavy smoking cheap cigarettes , alcohol and depression combined with very climatic extreme shifts in temperature , its certainly a hard place to live . but 39 is a short time to live

That said, if their hospitals are as bad as I'm lead to believe [some] are, coupled with the various other factors you list and many more, it's not that surprising unfortunately. We had to medivac a guy off a ship some years back (constant headache, which turned out to be a brain haemorrhage), he was begging to wait until we got away from Russia so he didn't have to go to hospital there. He was Russian.
